
A lone firefighter faces a wall of flames engulfing a wooded area near the ELB Veterans' Hospital in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Hundreds of wildfires burned thousands of acres of Florida woods between May and July 1998. Firefighters from 48 states and several countries converged to fight the fires. In what can only be described as Divine intervention, there were no fire-related deaths.
