September 2006 to present: Multimedia and still photojournalist for the San Antonio Express-News, a 400,000 Sunday circulation newspaper in Texas. Gather audio, video and still photos on assignment and produce packages for internet presentation using Audacity, Final Cut Pro, Soundslides and Macromedia Flash software. Cover the U.S.-Mexico border and sports at all levels, and general news. Proficient in still digital and video photography. Adobe Photoshop, HTML web publishing, Apple Macintosh and Windows computers, many methods of remote photo transmission and internet connectivity.

February 2000 to present: Staff photographer for the San Antonio Express-News, a 400,000 Sunday circulation newspaper in Texas. Cover the U.S.-Mexico border and sports, general news, photo essays and features photos. Proficient on digital cameras, AP Leafdesk, Adobe Photoshop, HTML web publishing, Apple Macintosh and Windows computers, many methods of remote photo transmission.

April 1998 to February 2000: Staff photographer for the Orlando Sentinel, a 300,000-daily, 400,000-Sunday circulation newspaper in Central Florida. Highlights included coverage of the extensive wildfires that devastated the state during the summer of 1998.

October 1997 to March 1998: Freelance photographer based out of El Paso, Texas. Regular clients included Associated Press, Dallas Morning News, El Paso Times, Christianity Today, Los Angeles Times and others. During this period I traveled to Beirut, Lebanon, where I explored the Palestinian situation.

July 1987 to October 1997: Staff photographer for the El Paso Herald-Post, a 20,000-circulation afternoon daily in an international region of 2 million people. While at the Herald-Post, the newspaper was a Pulitzer finalist in two categories in the same year. It also produced an NPPA Photo Editor of the Year. Highlights of my years at the Herald-Post included coverage of narcotrafficking, immigration, free trade and Mexico politics.

June to August, 1986: Photography internship for the Herald-Post.

September 1985 to May, 1986: Photo editor for The Prospector, an 11,000-circulation twice-weekly student newspaper at the University of Texas at El Paso. Managed staff photographers and stringers, developed and designed photo pages and special sections and stocked and maintained darkroom facilities.

January to September, 1985: Sports editor and photographer for The Prospector. Duties included assigning, writing and editing stories.
